Welcome to the beautiful hills and valleys of South Wiltshire. Celebrate with us the wealth of song, music and dance from this county and beyond at the inaugural Tisbury Folk and Acoustic Festival weekend.

The village of Tisbury, situated between Shaftsbury and Salisbury, beside the winding River Nadder is a designated Area of outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Tisbury, steeped in fascinating history, sits surrounded by landmark historical sites including Old Wardour Castle, the ultimate romantic ruin, that featured in the Kevin Costner film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

A short river walk from the camping field leads to the festival activities with the pubs, halls, shops and camping all within a mile of each other. The five pubs - The Cross, The Crown, The Boot, The Benett Arms and the South Western will all host sessions, workshops and provide food and drinks throughout the weekend. The Crown Inn Folk Club will be in the function room (or the courtyard if the night is fine!!) and the outside stage at the South Western will kick off the Friday night and showcase groups during Saturday and Sunday. Acoustic music of all genres are welcome to participate in open mic and informal session - just make yourself known to the organizer of the event or contact the festival committee beforehand to be assured of a spot.

The Nadder and Victoria Halls will be the venues for the concerts and the Saturday evening ceilidh while the Hinton Hall and adjoining open ground will be home for the Fair Trade stalls and Green Fair. Various Morris sides and Irish dancers will be leaping about at venues throughout the village while two fine Dutch horses Hermon, Ipon, and carriage will be on hand to carry passengers from one venue to another for a charitable donation.

Tisbury has a good selection of shops - essentials include the Post office, Co-op, Chemist, Greengrocer, Butcher and two good take-aways. Also on the High Street are the Delicatessen, shops selling gifts, pottery, flowers, antiques, bikes - in fact almost everything you could possibly need!

A great line-up, a great place, a great atmosphere
Come and be part of the first Tisbury Folk & Acoustic Festival!
